HR Internship

Looking for Chicago HR internships? Walker Sands is looking for an energetic detail-oriented person to serve as a human resource intern for a 12-week internship at our Chicago office.


Our Chicago HR intern will be responsible for assisting both our HR and learning and development teams with ongoing projects related to employee training, records management and recruitment.  

As the HR intern, you will have a chance to interface with employee across all levels of the company and therefore must be a confident communicator.  We are looking for someone who is eager to learn about the HR space and can provide support to both our HR team as well as our agency’s employees.  You must be able to work independently and balance a variety of responsibilities including course creation, interview coordination, HR system maintenance and staying up to date on the latest HR trends.


  • A current or recently graduated student with coursework in business, human resources or organizational development preferred.
  • Previous experience in an HR related field is a plus.
  • Tech savvy with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Strong relationship building skills and attention to detail. 
  • Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, initiative and integrity.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to manage multiple projects at once. 
  • Strong customer relations skills. 

Internship Details

  • This is a 12-week, paid internship beginning on January 22, 2017
  • We are looking for both full and part-time interns.  Part-time interns must be available at least 20 hours a week.
  • All HR internship candidate finalists must complete a writing test.
